For the past several years Jonathon has focused on interactive drama and video game writing. He works on projects as a freelance writer and game designer for game development companies while designing and building his own games. He is a lifetime member of IGDA, in which he he actively participates via the local Boston chapter known as Boston Postmortem. Believing very strongly in the strength of community, he is also actively involved in local organizations such as Boston Game Jams and Boston Indies. He helped to found the web site BostonIndies.com and previously managed the content and edited all writing in addition to his own posts.
Jonathon is also a produced playwright and screenwriter who previously studied with Nobel prize winning authors Elie Wiesel and Derek Walcott and spent three summers studying dramatic writing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He was accepted into the Boston University Creative Writing Department, where he completed his MFA with playwriting residency at Boston Playwrights Theatre. His plays have been workshopped and produced in Boston, New York and Chicago. Jonathon also intensively studied screenwriting and film direction. He obtained a Writer in Hollywood Graduate Certificate while completing a full time Los Angeles internship that included heavy script coverage and analysis at The Gersh Agency. Several of his short scripts have been produced on film or video.
