Jonathon was a speaker at the IGDA Summit of Casual Connect in Seattle on July 24, 2012. He participated in multiple panels of the Writing Track, including Beyond Gift Requests and Loot Drops, a panel on narrative in social games. He also participated in the panel The Gamer With a Thousand, available to view below. (see him at 25:34)

Jack Lumber was announced and demonstrated at PAX East 2012 with Owlchemy Labs.

After co-founding the site and volunteering as Managing Editor for the community blog of the Boston Indies, Jonathon has divided those responsibilities and now advises the current staff.  You can read his posts at this link.

The collaborative project Candescent was released as a free launch title on Brass Monkey, a web-portal game system in which you can use your iOS or Android device as a controller. Jonathon is producer and game designer of the project. 

  • As a member of the Game Writing SIG of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), he held the duties of Writing Czar for the Game Narrative Summit of GDC Online in October 2011. He fulfilled similar duties for IGDA and the Writing SIG during PAX East 2011 in March.
  • In May 2011 Jonathon founded an experimental regional sub-group of the Writing SIG of the IGDA named New England Interactive Narrative.  Interactive narrative designers and writers from Boston and surrounding areas attend monthly meetings.
  • Co-authored short film SNOVI was honored as the Grand Prize Winner for Best Experimental Film at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. It was previously a nomination in the narrative category of the Student Academy Awards and it screened previously in the U.S. at Cinequest after its world premiere at the Sarajevo Film Festival.  www.snovifilm.com

  • Jonathon was the organizer and moderator of Interactive Drama: Dialogue as Gameplay at PAX East 2011 featuring Daniel Erickson of SWTOR, among others.
  • He wrote coverage of IGDA @ GDC for the Perspectives Newsletter.  It highlights the International Game Developers Association at the Game Developers Conference
  • A game featuring his writing is in development and the site (Perchance to Dream) now has a teaser/trailer and gameplay videos.
